MDH Drill Series – Carbide Coated Drill for Steel and Cast Iron Machining

In recent years, across various industrial sectors—most notably the automotive industry—there has been a growing demand for tools specialized in high-efficiency machining. In response to these requirements, Sumitomo has newly developed the MDH Series. When drilling steel and cast iron, this drill achieves stable, high-efficiency machining through a cutting-edge geometry that significantly reduces machining load compared to conventional products while simultaneously enhancing resistance to chipping.

Superior Machining Stability: Leveraging the effects of a unique new thinning geometry known as “RP Thinning,” the drill improves chip evacuation to achieve a substantial reduction in machining load, thereby enabling stable machining even under high-efficiency conditions.
